We have partnered with FSU’s Opening Nights, Leon County Schools, and Centennial Bank!!! We get the privilege to visit three Leon County Schools to share the rich history of Folk Music and its different genres, including Appalachian, Blues, Bluegrass and Rock-n-Roll. We will be lecturing about the history of songwriting, the idea of passing songs down from one generation to the next, and will discuss the birth of “protest songs” to help create a better cultural understanding of our past.

The tour begins on October 16, 17 & 18

Monday (Oct. 16) – Fairview Middle School

Tuesday (Oct. 17) – Apalachee Elementary School

Wednessday (Oct. 18) – James S. Rickards High School

Sundown Summer Series w/ Dead Keys!!!

Tallahassee Sundown Summer Series 2017

The New 76ers have been in many different bands formed throughout the years, but none has there been a band that they all were in… except for Dead Keys! A Grateful Dead cover band started out in the early 2000’s playing at the Warehouse every Thursday night for a 6 Month stint. Having that show created a following no one could imagine and created a bond between the musicians that will carry on until the end of our days.

Unfortunately, the reason behind us all getting back together for a reunion show was because of our beloved brother and guitarist, Scott Campbell, passing away. This show at Cascades Park this Saturday will be our last goodbye to our dear friend.

It’s a free show so please come out and watch The New 76ers join forces with other amazing musicians to form Dead Keys! The Midtowners (they’re not stuck on the name) is a band that was started by Chris Skene, Mickey Abraham, Reo Morris, & our very own Brian Durham. They will open the show at 7pm.

Here’s the details:

7pm-8pm – The Midtowners

8pm-10pm – Dead Keys
